A Sunny Suburban Hacienda
I love the distinct style of this home. It gets me dreaming of Spanish retreats and Mexican fiesta. What fun to live it everyday! Even more fun is the potential for color. Not only are the surfaces ripe for painting, the hacienda style practically demands it.
I like the idea of creating definition with paint. Check out the top border. And to pop out the facade, some Bermuda style shutters and a front planter wall.
There is also a great opportunity here for color blocking. Here’s a modern take on the hacienda with warm neutrals punched up with linear yellow accents.
Terra Cotta is one of my all time favorite colors. So surprisingly, I’m really loving this all yellow facade. It’s just so sunny and welcoming. I imagine it would be distinct but not too crazy in the neighborhood, as well.
With such an amazing canvas, how can you go wrong with this house? Just be sure to invite me over for some sangria or margaritas!
July 2, 2012 Hmm it seems like your website ate my first conmemt (it wasextremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips for rookie blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
